Kudos
Published July 19th, 2006 in RememberedI just got a message from my friend Paul, who is a photographer. He’s over in Lebanon right now, has been for a while. One of his photos is on the front page of the NYTimes today. As long as it’s still Wednesday the 19th, you can see a shrunk version of the front page here. For those of you who are missing the image, Paul’s photo is over 4 columns on the front page (at the top, no less) and is of Americans evacuating Beirut. While I personally would prefer to see photos of what’s going on in Lebanon (apart from American tourists getting out of town), I am very proud of this accomplishment. I’ve known Paul since we were 16 or 17. He wanted to be a photographer back then, and has somehow actually made that happen for himself (OK, they weren’t always glamorous jobs, but I don’t know if running around the Shrine of Imam Ali with a camera and a flak jacket during the Iraq War could be called glamorous either).
Now go out there and buy a newspaper.
